Gambling - B2 Gaming Machines - Proposed Restrictions

On 14th June 2016, the Bishop of Bristol (on behalf of the Bishop of St Albans), introduced a Bill to the House of Lords to make provision for licensing authorities to restrict the number of Category B2 gaming machines which may be authorised under a betting premises licence.

As this is not a Government sponsored Bill it faces an uncertain future, unless the Government takes up the cause directly or makes room in the Legislative calendar for the Bill it may struggle to find the necessary Parliamentary time to progress.
The issue of B2 gaming machines remains a contentious subject and we wait to see how this Bill progresses.
